KJHL makeup games announced

Keystone Junior Hockey League announced several rescheduled games this week. Peguis Juniors (14-12-1) will have a busy schedule during the final week with five games remaining to play.

Three of those games will be against the Cross Lake Islanders (15-14-0) who are one point in front of Peguis for the third spot in the KJHL standings.

The two teams also met in the 2019 KJHL Finals when Peguis won a in seven games.

Hometown Hockey spent the past three days in Peguis with a number of hockey icons, former players and special guests appearing.

The event will wrap up on March 1 with the viewing party of the NHL game between Vancouver Canucks and Columbus Blue Jackets.

Peguis Juniors to meet Fighting Walleye in non-league series

Two of the top teams in central Canada will meet this January 11-12 when the seven-time Keystone Junior Hockey League champion Peguis Juniors take on the Thunder Bay Fighting Walleye of the Lakehead Junior Hockey League. Both games will take place in the Fort Frances, Ontario area.

Peguis and the Fighting Walleye have met three times over the past two Keystone Cup tournaments with the Thunder Bay crew winning 6-0 in the 2019 round robin. In 2018 the Walleye also won the round robin matchup (7-2) before Peguis won their semifinal game 6-3.

FFMHAGame one is scheduled for 7:00 PM on January 11 at Couchiching First Nation Arena. Proceeds from the game will go to the Fort Frances Canadians Peewee team who are selling tickets for the event.

The teams will make the short trek west the following day for game two at Emo-LaVallee Community Centre. Game time set for noon. This game will benefit the Emo Devlin Barwick Minor Hockey Association.EmoExpress
